Four Quick Bedroom Upgrades

It doesn’t have to take a lot of time, money or effort to give your bedroom a few little improvements. You can make a difference in the look and feel of your room in a flash with these four quick and easy bedroom upgrades:

Make Your Bed More Comfortable
Invest in a good down comforter and cover it with colorful duvet. Not only will that perk up the look of your room, you’ll sleep better, too. For even more comfort, add a fitted mattress topper with memory foam or down fill. These will “fatten up” your bed, giving a more luxurious look as well as a more comfortable feel.

Jazz Up Your Headboard
A plain wood headboard can get a facelift with just a coat of paint. Depending on your decor, you could use black, a soft neutral or even a bold shot of red. You can also decoupage it with decorative paper or upholster it with batting and a pretty fabric.

Soften The Lighting
Harsh light doesn’t belong in the bedroom. Look for lower wattage light bulbs (which will save on energy costs as well) and replace light lampshades with mid-tone versions that mute light better. If you need brighter light at times, consider installing a dimmer.

Add Color And Texture
A great area rug and new curtain panels can work wonders in a room. Look to add a shot of color and some texture with these accessories. Pattern is a quick and easy way to add texture.
